Bill Gates comments are good, even if he is misquoted or misspoke. We need innovation to make solar, wind energy and other alternative energy more consumable. Consumption is not all bad. Alternative energy needs to get into the hands of the marketplace. Alternative energy must be attainable for everybody.
Sure Mr. Gates' comment, 'We need innovation, not insulation,' is inflammatory. It is meant to be. The first rule of marketing is create a demand for a product. If the alternative energy sector does not understand marketing, the energy market will never change.
Microsoft has a big footprint in the tech marketplace. In this case a big footprint is good. A paradox change needs to take place in the alternative energy community. The community needs to evolve from a fringe geeky community to one that strives for inclusion.
In order to conserve energy on a greater scale the community needs to embrace the captains of industry. This may seem like it is so many types of wrong. Alternative energy in order to change the world must be available at Walmart.
